Asbestos Management

2020-2021 School Year Notification

During the past school year and continuing in the 2020-2021 school year, the following asbestos management plan activities have been or are currently being completed, pursuant to the Environmental Protection Agency 40 CFR Part 763 – “Asbestos Containing Materials in Schools; Final Rules and Notice.”

ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED FOR 2020-2021

1. Periodic surveillance Inspections by Certified Inspectors.
2. Third Year Inspections by Certified Inspectors.
3. Notification of Asbestos Locations for Short-Term Workers (Electricians, Plumbers, etc.)
4. Training of District Personnel

ISD 2909 has contracted through the Institute for Environmental Assessment (IEA) to provide Environmental, Health and Safety consulting services, including being involved in the above listed activities.

A copy of the Asbestos Management Plan is available for review in the school maintenance office. Copies are available for 25 cents per page. Questions related to the plan should be directed to IEA at 800-233-9513.
