SPORTS REGISTRATION IS NOW ONLINE

Dear Rock Ridge 7th – 12th Grade Parents and Students:

All sports registrations will be completed electronically .

To register electronically, you will need to create an account if you have not already done so. If you are creating an account for the first time, you will need to have the participant’s sports physical exam date.  A sports physical is good for 3 years and is usually done in 7th and 10th grade.  Due to COVID,  please check with the Activities Office to make sure we have a current physical on file.

  • Any student who has not previously participated and who does not have a physical on file is required to have a physical and clearance prior to participation.
  • Set up a sports physical with your child’s doctor as soon as possible because when August comes around, it can be difficult to get a sports physical completed before fall sports start.

If you have any questions, please contact Josh Lamppa or Chad Hazelton or stop in the Activities Office.

TRAP TEAM: MESABI EAST/ROCK RIDGE (Head Coach: Jon Stordahl)

There are a few openings for the fall season of trap.  Participants MUST have completed the MN Firearm Safety Course and have the number from the state to be able to participate.  Also, we follow the Minnesota State High School League rules though we are not part of the program.

Sign up MUST be completed before Sept. 9, 2022.  If you’d like to see what trap is all about, look up the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League and you will get an idea of what is involved.

A shotgun (preferable 12 but 20 will work) with modified choke would be great, although a few are available. Shotguns with exposed hammers are NOT allowed nor are open-toe shoes.

The team will shoot on Monday afternoons starting at 4PM starting Sept. 19 for 6 weeks. Cost is $150 for the 6 weeks where you shoot 2 rounds of trap for a total of 50 shells. Safety glasses are required. Hearing protection and shells are provided with fees paid. Beginners will be given a little extra training.

If interested contact, Jon Stordahl, (coach), at [email protected].  If needed, phone or text 218-780-4600.
