ECFE / School Readiness
WELCOME to Rock Ridge Early Childhood Programs. We offer a variety of classes at Parkview Elementary (Virginia) and at Laurentian Elementary (Eveleth) that lay a healthy foundation for lifelong learning for children while supporting parents and caregivers.
Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is a program that offers classes, events, playtimes, and other opportunities designed to give families ideas and skills to support their child’s growth and development from birth to kindergarten.
Rock Ridge School Readiness is a welcoming and nurturing program that provides children with one of their first preschool experiences at two elementary school locations. Our program focuses on supporting the whole child by building social-emotional skills, language and literacy development, health and nutrition awareness, and physical growth and development. Children have opportunities to become comfortable in a group setting, learn classroom routines, make new friends, and explore exciting new experiences in a safe and caring environment.
Our classrooms offer a variety of engaging learning centers and activities designed to encourage curiosity, creativity, and learning through play. Children can explore science, art, dramatic play, music, sensory activities, and both fine and gross motor experiences. Through these hands-on opportunities, children develop important school readiness skills while building confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
- School Readiness 3’s (Terrific 3’s) at Laurentian Elementary is a fun and lighthearted introduction to the school setting. There will be hands-on learning activities that are developmentally appropriate for three-year-old children. All learning is play based and presented in an engaging way. This class will help children build self-confidence and develop social skills independently of parents. Children who are 3-years old by September 1st of the current school year are eligible to participate in this program. Classes meet twice per week for four hours per day with a licensed educator and trained support staff.
- School Readiness 4-Year Olds Program at Parkview Elementary: Children will participate in hands-on-learning that is educational and fun in a stimulating classroom that encourages learning through discovery and play. Children who are 4-years old by September 1st of the current school year are eligible to participate in this program. Classes meet Monday-Friday, full days for the school year with a licensed educator and trained support staff.
