Parkview School Readiness

School Readiness programs are designed to nurture your child and to build upon the skills that they will need in kindergarten. Rock Ridge Public Schools offers exceptional School Readiness experiences to enhance and expand the learning opportunities available for your child. Children are provided with choices and hands-on learning opportunities in language, literacy, math, science, art, music, health and well-being, and social, emotional and physical development.

Each of our preschool programs have received the highest possible rating by Minnesota’s quality rating system for early education settings. Licensed teachers use a variety of research-based curriculum to thoughtfully engage children in activities which build essential school-readiness skills. These skills provide children a smooth and successful transition into kindergarten.

Supply List For 2026-2027

Each student will need the following supplies for their school readiness year. Please bring the supplies with you and your child on orientation day.

• 1 regular size backpack (Keep in mind it needs to hold snow pants, boots, shoes, snacks, and folders. Please avoid those with wheels as they do not fit in our lockers.)
• 1 box of 8-count big crayons
• 1 box of Crayola thick-point markers
• 1 Crayola primary watercolor paint
• 1 pair of Fiskar children’s metal scissors (blunt end)
• big glue sticks (Elmer’s is best. Students use about 3 per year of the big size. They are easiest to find in the fall and can be stored until we need them.)
• 1 small bottle of Elmer’s white glue
• 1 box of gallon bags (boys only)
• 1 box of quart bags (girls only)
• 2 packs of unscented baby wipes
• 2 containers of Clorox wipes
• 1 small towel for rest time
• 1 box of Kleenex
• complete set of extra clothes (underwear, shirt, pants, and socks) in a labeled Ziploc bag.
