Native American Heritage Hockey Nights

Inspired by Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Frost Native American Heritage events, the events will feature live play-by-play in Ojibwe (Anishinaabemowin) during one girls and one boys varsity hockey game, made possible through a Minnesota Department of Education Native Language Revitalization Grant.

The games will be streamed by the Rock Ridge Media team with assistance from Mesabi Community Television, and broadcast live-on-air on KBFT Bois Forte Radio 89.9 FM as well as the KBFT mobile app.

These are likely the first high school games ever broadcast in OJibwe in the United States.
